Wendy and Eddie Osefo face 33 fraud charges in Maryland
According to multiple sources, incl Page six According to TMZ, Wendy and her husband were taken into custody Thursday and face a slew of criminal charges.
Wendy is said to be facing 15 total charges: seven felony counts of “fraud by false/misleading information over $300,” seven misdemeanor counts of the same charge, and one misdemeanor charge of making a false statement to a police officer.
Eddie faces 18 charges: nine felony counts of “fraud by false/misleading information over $300,” eight misdemeanor counts of the same charge, and one misdemeanor count of making a false statement to an officer.

Officers claim Wendy and Eddie Osefo lied about a robbery

Police officers were investigating a robbery that the Osefos family claimed occurred in April 2024, TMZ reported.
The couple allegedly told officers that several of the reality star’s luxury bags and jewelry had been stolen. However, officers said they later saw Wendy wearing some of the jewelry she had allegedly reported stolen in social media posts.
The investigation reportedly found that many of the items that Wendy’s claimed were stolen were purchased and later returned to the store, “where the full amount was recovered prior to the alleged robbery.”
The Osefos have reportedly claimed a loss of personal property worth $450,000 to their insurance company.

Wendy and Eddie aren’t the only “Potomac” stars linked to the messy legal drama.
One of the series’ original cast members, Karen Huger, was recently released from prison after serving six months for a DUI.
As previously reported ExplosionWendy expressed concern about Huger, 62, being sentenced to prison in early 2025.
She said: “I couldn’t believe it. At the end of the day, we may have our differences, but I always wish her well, and I invite her to pray 100%.”

Candice Dillard Bassett’s reaction to Wendy and Eddie’s arrest
Wendy’s former co-star, Candiace Dillard Bassett, reacted to the news on Fox 5 DC, expressing genuine concern about their arrest and hinting that there may be more to the story.
Bassett stated that she believed Huger was sentenced behind bars to set an example to others and wondered if the same thing was happening with Wendy and Eddie.
The former “RHOP” star praised the work of Wendy and Eddie, praising them for providing jobs and resources for people of color in the DMV area.
“My first thought was: ‘Are they being targeted? Is this something we should be thinking about?'” she said.
“I’m heartbroken. I feel chills, I’m shaking. I can’t imagine,” Bassett continued.
