Hey Eagley heads! It contains the following Spoilers The Peacemaker, Season 2, Episode 8, “Camel Nelson.”
If there’s one thing writer-director James Gunn has become great at doing, it’s introducing audiences to seemingly evil characters who actually end up being kind of cool. His “Peacemaker” series is itself a kind of ode to giving people second chances, as we follow Christopher Smith, aka The Peacemaker (John Cena) after his hero Rick Flag Jr. (Joel Kinnaman) is killed on government orders and decides to turn his life around. “Peacemaker” is the character’s salvation after “Suicide Squad,” Proving that Gunn knows a thing or two about complex heroes.
Now, in the Season 2 finale of “Peacemaker,” a pair of villains have been given a chance to prove they’re okay, as former ARGUS employees Langston Flory (Tim Meadows), Sasha Bordeaux (Sol Rodriguez), and GoDomaster (Nhut Le) join the 11th Street Kids to create Checkmate, a covert operations agency working for the common people.
While it’s great that Gunn is setting up Checkmate, and it makes sense for Bordeaux to switch sides since she’s part of the group in the DC comic series, it’s honestly better that Judomaster finally Join the gang of misfits surrounding the Peacemaker instead of fighting against them. certainly, Adebayo has got (Danielle Brooks) behind him By electrocuting a whole bunch of Nazis in episode 7, but that seems more formal.
Judomaster has always belonged to the 11th Street Kids
until Back in season 1the Judomaster felt like he belonged alongside the 11th Street Kids instead of fighting them, no matter how hilarious their actions were. His penchant for snacking on Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and hurling insults like a sailor on shore leave makes him more suitable for kids than the US government, and his time chatting with Adebayo on Earth A really interesting person underneath all the violence And cheeto dust.
Like Peacemaker or Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), the Judomaster is a masked superhero with an unfortunate penchant for extreme violence who also happens to be charming and cool. Seriously, they’re all great masked killing machines and it’s a shame we didn’t get to see the three of them fight something together this season, but at least we got to see them roaming the halls of Checkmate’s new offices together.
There’s obviously more mystery to the Judomaster, as he’s the only one who wears his full costume almost all the time (and he even wears his costume and mask under another helmet when visiting alternate dimensions at the end). Hopefully we’ll find out what this is all about in Season 3 of “Peacemaker” or some sort of spin-off series based on Checkmate. All I know is that The best part of “Peacemaker” Watching the 11th Street Kids and their love for each other, the audience deserves to see more of them together – with Bordeaux, Fleury, and the amazing Jedomaster along for the ride.
