Last week, OpenAI released Sora 2, the latest version of its AI-based video creator, along with the new Sora app for creating and sharing these videos. The new tool has led to a explosion of real-life AI videos on social media, including lots of new discussions about intellectual property rights. But one of the strangest things to emerge with Sora 2 is a new set of videos showing AI protesters.
These are not just protest videos. Specifically, supporters of President Donald Trump appear to be making videos of protesters being brutalized by federal agents and troops sent into American cities. Trump recently tried to deploy National Guard troops to Portland and Chicago, and although courts have delayed those deployments, those cities are still rife with ICE agents terrorizing immigrant communities.
One of the new videos of fake protesters, which is over 40 million views On Instagram, a person dressed in black appears shouting at a soldier wearing a military uniform.
“What’s your name, soldier?” The AI demonstrator shouts repeatedly. The text on the screen says “Wait” before the AI soldier sprays the protester with orange pepper spray, shouting “Sergeant Pepper.”
The video has been shared on several platforms, including TikTok and X, where many people don’t seem to understand that it’s artificial intelligence. Actor James Woods, a Trump supporter who frequently shares right-wing memes on X, wrote on Tuesday about the video, “It can’t get better than this. Great haiku level. Many of the comments seem completely oblivious to the fact that this is artificial intelligence.
Another video that became popular FacebookBoth Instagram and The AI protesters in the video were also sprayed with a chemical.
The video received more than 1.5 million views on X alone, with… Caption“,”Hahahaha that was beautiful and before you ask I voted 100 votes for this!!
The phrase “I voted for this” has become a common refrain among far-right Trump supporters when something particularly brutal happens to their political opponents.

Includes Instagram video version Caption “Liberals act like clowns – Treated like clowns by federal agents – Goodbye – FAFO, which is short for Fuck and Find Out. Some users on Instagram indicated that it was related to artificial intelligence, but the account insisted in the comments that it was real.
Obviously this is not real. And the large Sora watermark should serve as a guide for anyone familiar with OpenAI. Unfortunately, this type of watermark is not enough for most people these days to distinguish between fake and real content.
Sora’s shorter videos are also grouped into larger collections of AI-generated fakes, as in this one One on X It includes jokes about paying protesters’ salaries. A common right-wing accusation is that all the people protesting Donald Trump are actually being paid to be there, often by liberal activists like George Soros.
The most curious thing about all the fake protester videos is that there are a lot of real videos to share. For example, a pastor in Chicago was shot in the head with pepper balls by agents last month. Pastor David Black was protesting outside an ICE facility near Chicago, Illinois, and speaking peacefully when he was attacked.
Another of many videos showing protesters being brutalized through no fault of their own was recently captured in Portland. A woman is shown simply talking to police before being sprayed for no apparent reason at all.
incredible. Outside a Portland ICE facility, a man and woman were standing and talking to two officers carrying shields when one of them pulled out his pepper spray and pointed it in her face. She was still crying in pain several minutes later and had to be taken away to get… pic.twitter.com/2j2CVdO5rC

But real videos of a pastor or woman being treated with unnecessary violence don’t really fit the narrative that President Trump and his fascist followers are trying to sell. Trump claimed that the reason he was sending agents and troops into American cities was because they were plagued by crime. He just wants to restore law and order.
In fact, violent crimes are close Lowest level in 50 yearsTrump is simply trying to strike fear into the hearts of ordinary Americans while his thugs disrupt the lives of countless people. The disruption is having an economic impact, as restaurants in Chicago compare the situation Loss of business To the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
And maybe that’s why we’re seeing so many fake protest videos on social media right now. They need an excuse to justify their brutal crackdown on the working class. Trump himself was apparently convinced to deploy the Oregon National Guard because he had watched too many old videos of Portland from Summer 2020 On TV. When it comes to Trump, he is easy to fool.
Trump even shared an AI video of himself promoting “magical.”Medical bed“It can cure all diseases. The president’s Truth Social account has deleted the video, but it’s still unclear why he shared the conspiracy theory in the first place. It’s entirely possible that he thought it was true. We simply don’t know.”
Remember when the president saw a photoshopped image of the letters “MS-13” on someone’s hand last April? He insisted it was real?

Trump is not a smart man. His followers are even dumber, deploying AI on a massive scale, creating an alternate reality in which sadistic forces dole out punishment on the left on American streets. Unfortunately, you don’t need AI to see a lot of brutality now. If Trump gets his way, we will see a lot more of him very soon.
