Ariel Barnera single Black mother of five in Florida, says she lived in her neighborhood for only six months before the HOA started targeting her children. Here’s what happened with Ariel Barner, her HOA team, and her 5-year-old son
According to Barner, on September 23, 2025, she received a FaceTime call from her daughter who was crying. The girl reportedly explained that an older woman shouted at her 5-year-old brother, Owen, and ordered him to stop swinging from a tree. Bear Barner, after receiving a FaceTime call from her daughter, followed up directly with the older woman, who is also the HOA president for the community. Furthermore, Barner asked the woman to reach out to her directly with any complaints or concerns about her children.
Days later, she reportedly received a legal notice from the HOA, calling her son a “public nuisance” and citing his actions as a violation of community policies. Furthermore, Barner was fined.
“The HOA, as of today, is seeking to begin legal action against my 5-year-old child because he touched a tree and touched a rock.” Barner later explained to viewers on TikTok. “…I have had no problems at all…I have received no written complaints. I have received no warnings at all…”
Furthermore, the notice reportedly details the HOA’s intent to take action against Barner if she does not comply with the HOA’s requests. However, when a local media outlet requested a statement from the HOA’s legal team, they claimed the $382 fee was only optional for Barner to pay.
