During an appearance on a radio show, Catania, 54, explained that she learned something terrible had happened after receiving a frantic phone call from one of her boyfriend’s children.

Unfortunately, Dolores Catania’s horrific experience is not unique in the Bravo universe, as “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-stars Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards have suffered similar situations.

While speaking to Jeff Lewis on his radio show, Catania shared the shocking news that her home had been broken into while she was away filming a new series for work.

“Our house was broken into last week… or two weeks ago,” she said, later adding that the thieves “came with a blowtorch.”

Catania explained that she was in the middle of filming when she noticed a frantic phone call from one of her partner’s children.

“My phone was going off and I saw it was his son,” she said. “I always answer for the kids, even if I’m in the middle of filming. He says, ‘Is my dad there? The house just got broken into.’

According to Catania, her boyfriend, who appeared during the final season of “RHONJ,” immediately feared something terrible had happened to one of their children.

“I thought something had happened to one of my children or someone’s child, but (the break-in) was pretty bad,” he said, before explaining that the thieves used a blowtorch to try to disable the couple’s sophisticated security system.

“Apparently, they came in with a blowtorch. They smashed the window,” Connell explained. “They overheated it so it wouldn’t set off the alarm. So it crashes without setting off the alarm.”

Catania shared that her home’s alarm system is top-notch and that she yells at burglars to “get out” when they disable the system.

While it was terrifying, fortunately for Catania and Connell, the robbers left with nothing as law enforcement quickly arrived on the scene.

“They were inside the house for about a minute,” Connell said. “They (spent) eight minutes trying to get in because they used this torch because the glass was tempered. So instead of smashing the glass and setting off the alarm, they heated it up.”

Catania also shared a key lesson she learned from the situation, hoping to help others avoid a similar encounter in the future.

“I want everyone to know that. We all like to post when we’re out and about, and Paulie posted that day we were in Rhode Island…and that night we got broken into,” she recalled, essentially warning her followers to be careful about the information they share online.

However, if someone tries to break into her home again, it looks like the veteran reality star will be ready.

“Don’t bother breaking into our house,” she said.

Another Bravo star who had a home burglary was Kyle Richards from the network’s Beverly Hills repeat. Her home was targeted in 2017 while she and her family were on vacation in Aspen, Colorado.
