The European auto lobby says EU steel quota cuts threaten to raise costs for carmakers

The European Commission’s proposed extension of protectionism for the EU steel market, including sharp cuts in import quotas and a doubling of tariffs on steel beyond those limits, threatens to raise costs for European automakers, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association warned on Wednesday.
