Paizo Starfinder He’s been a big name in the TTRPG space for years, and now he’s bringing that influence to video games with Starfinder: Afternoon Light.
On Tuesday, the developer launched Epictellers Kickstarter For the game, which at the time of writing has crowdfunded over $244,000, nearly three times the studio’s initial ask of $87,774. Currently, the game is in pre-alpha, with stretch goals including additional voice acting and playing as two additional races, the Skittermanders ($100,000) and the Pahtras ($250,000). Backers at Khali’s Crew tier and above get access to the closed beta to provide further feedback.
Based on the second edition of starfinder, Afterlight Players are tasked with leading this crew in the search for their missing leader, Khalili, an adventure that ultimately puts the galaxy in danger. The game has been described as “Divinity: the origin of sin meet guardians of the galaxy,“Comrades like Vesk Kole Soldier, Android Envoy Lu-323, and Human Solarian Sterling explained it.
Ahead of the campaign’s launch, the studio released a trailer that highlights gameplay but contains emojis that promise a short journey through the universe with a cast of characters that the studio hopes players will love. (Literally, since you can romance each and every one of them, while throwing up a few “surprises” during the proceedings).
Similar to Baldur’s Gate 3, Starfinder: Afternoon Light It will have an Early Access release in mid-2026 which will include “10-15 hours” of the game’s first chapter.
