Disaster Management authorities in Indonesia said that they ended today, Tuesday, searches for victims trapped under the rubble of an Islamic internal school that collapsed in the Eastern Java region after recovering more than 60 bodies.

Sadness and confusion dominated the small town of Sidwaro last week after the founding breakdowns caused the collapse of Al -Khuzini School over hundreds of people, most of them adolescent boys, while they were performing the noon prayer. Most of them fled.

The disaster mitigation agency said in a statement that the bodies of all 61 people were found in the building, in addition to seven pieces that the police are trying to identify, which stopped searching efforts in a disaster that they described as the bloodiest this year.

“The operations are due to the collapse of the structure of Al -Khuzini School … they were officially closed,” said Mohamed Sayyafi, head of the search and rescue agency, after the authorities removed the rubble.

Body Iraan, deputy head of the agency, said that the cut parties are among the recognized parts.

Rescuers used excavations and cranes to raise large pieces of concrete. They dug the tunnels, and they shouted at the names of the victims who were still alive.

The Ministry of Public Works said that Al -Khuzni is one of more than 42,000 such schools throughout the country, known as internal schools, only 50 of which have a constructive permit.

Reuters could not determine whether Al -Khuzni had a permit or access to the school authorities. The media quoted Sidwaro Sobandy President as saying last week that he was lacking one.
