UEFA corresponds to Barcelona and Milan games abroad in a “unfortunate” decision

The European Football Association agreed to Barcelona and Milan playing league matches abroad, as President Alexander Severin described as a “unfortunate” decision.

Barcelona is scheduled to face Villarreal in Miami in December What will be the first player in the European League that was held abroad.

Milan Como is scheduled to face Australia in February.

UEFA gives approval in a “exceptional” decision

UEFA confirmed his clear opposition to the games, but he actually acknowledged that it was not soon to prevent them from keeping abroad because there was no legal framework through which to do so.

UEFA statement wrote: “UEFA today repeat a clear opposition to the local league matches that are played outside their homeland.

“After the meeting of the Executive Committee in Tirana last month, the European Union made more consultations with the stakeholders to assess the extent of the issue of the case, in the wake of the requests it received from Spanish and Italian football societies.

“This consultation confirmed the lack of the support raised by fans, other championships, clubs, players and European institutions about the concept of domestic league matches that are transferred abroad.

“However, given that the relevant FIFA regulatory framework – is currently under review – is not clear and detailed enough, the UEFA Executive Committee has been reluctantly taken by the approval decision, on an exceptional basis, the two requests that are referred to them. The European Union will contribute between clubs, on a large scale in the continuous work led by FIFA to ensure that these future rules are to pay integration Home and League competitions.

“In parallel, all national societies UEFA confirmed their commitment to participate with UEFA before submitting any future requests. Thus, they expressed their collective design to protect the broader interests of European football.”

UEFA Head: A precedent is appointed

“The league matches should be played at home, anything else that would deprive the sincere loyal fans and may provide distorted elements in the competitions,” said UEFA Alexander president.

“Our consultations confirmed the breadth of these concerns. I would like to thank 55 national societies for their constructive and responsible participation in such a sensitive issue.

“Although it is unfortunate that you have to allow these two games to move forward, this decision is exceptional and is not seen as a precedent.

“Our commitment is clear: to protect the integrity of national championships and ensure that football is still installed in its home environment.”
