Firefly tends to her defensive ambitions with a SCITEC acquisition of $ 855 million

Firefly Aerospace said on Sunday that she had agreed to buy a SCITEC defense analysis company for about $ 855 million in cash and shares, which paves the way until he becomes an important player in the national security market.

Firefly will pay about $ 300 million in cash and $ 555 million in new shares, and the deal is expected to be closed by the end of 2025.

Prinston -based SCITEC sells and tracking missile tracking systems, space awareness tools, and analyzes of defense and intelligence agents. Earlier this year, Space Force granted the company a $ 259 million contract to develop a satellite system for missile detection. The company has reported annual revenues of $ 164 million from the end of June.

The acquisition comes nearly two months after the Firefly General subscription, which is estimated at about $ 10 billion. The deal is part of the company’s efforts to restore itself as a vertical integrated defense contractor from a launch manufacturer.

There is no doubt that bringing Scitec at home will be useful, especially since the Pentagon is looking for more commercial partners to track missiles and early systems, including the “Golden Dome” missile program.

Once the deal is closed, Scitec will act as a Firefly company, and will be led by the current CEO, Jim Lisowski.
