Jhené Aiko is addressing critics online after losing her home in the Los Angeles wildfires
The Shade Room captured the “Stay Ready” singer’s comment under one of the posts, calling out people who ignored her loss due to her celebrity status.
“The fact that some of you think I have Paris Hilton money is weird. I don’t take it that way, but I have a big, loving family that’s worth more than anything else.
Jhené also shared how she lost her home to a fire when she was in second grade and dealt with kids pranking her thinking she came from money. She added that she is grateful to be in a better place now than she was at the time.
“But they thought we were rich because we had love!! My family and friends came together and made sure that me, my mom, and my siblings would get at least one new tracksuit and a new pair of shoes the next day. I’m lucky enough to be in a better situation than they were in that Time. I pray that I can receive the same amount of blessing that my mother received during that time. I am working hard for my family. I pray that you all stay safe, God bless you,” Echo continued.
Jhené sends prayers to those affected by the wildfires
Before addressing the haters, Aiko shared her prayers for everyone affected by the fires. Expressing her heartache, she revealed that she and her children lost everything and now have to rebuild their lives from the ground up.
“My kids and I went home. It burned to the ground and all the things inside it. Lord have mercy. Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.” The “Bed of Peace” singer wrote.
