Rodrigo Bentancourt adhered to Tottenham by agreeing to a new long -term contract with the club.

Uruguay midfielder has become a major figure since his arrival from Juventus in 2022, making 122 games in all competitions.

Last season, he played a decisive role as Spears raised his first cup in 17 years, starting with the final European League victory over Manchester United.

While Tottenham did not reveal the duration of the contract, they described it as a “long -term” agreement.

“I feel really good and I am very happy to continue my story with this wonderful club,” said Bentancourt.

“We have a new main coach, a new leader and I want to enjoy many years in the club.”

Bentancourt originally fell during the period of Antonio Conte, although the Italian coach left just more than a year later.

Angtecoglou succeeded him in 2023, before Thomas Frant took over the president of Brentford earlier this year.

Frank welcomed the news of the midfielder’s extension, saying: “I am very happy that Rodrigo has committed his future for the club. He shows his belief in what we build here and that we start a journey that we hope will be really distinctive.”
