Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado on Thursday appeared in public for the first time in months, risking arrest to join anti-government protests in the capital, Caracas. Machado chanted “Venezuela united” to a crowd desperate to obstruct President Nicolas Maduro from being sworn in for a third six-year term after elections in July that many believe were stolen.
