Universal Music and Warner Music is approaching the deals of artificial intelligence licensing, according to the people familiar with this issue, as signs of recordings are trying to set the conditions for how to pay technology groups in exchange for music.
The people said that Universal and Warner – Taylor Swift, Kindrik Lamar and Charles XCX and ColdPlay – can deal with both artificial intelligence companies within weeks.
The people said that the talks included startups including ElevenLabs, AI, Suno, Udio and Klay Vision.
Music companies are also talking with large technology collections including Google and Spotify.
The posters believe that the talks are a pre-emptive way to deal with the disorder by artificial intelligence and avoid the wrong steps for the Internet-a moment that was almost destroyed at the beginning of the millennium.
The conversations focused on how to license posters for their songs to create paths created from artificial intelligence and to train large language models, according to the people familiar with the matter.
They are looking for a similar to a broadcast of broadcasting, as it operates a Micropayment. To calculate payments, stickers want the artificial intelligence groups to develop support technology, which resembles a YouTube content system, which can determine when their music is used.
People participating in the talks said it was not clear companies that were closest to amazing deals.
Three people knowing the matter said that Spotify was still in the early stages to explore how to integrate the gynecological intelligence tools of its platform and there was no imminent deal.
People familiar with the discussions said, although the models may differ from each platform.
The paths created from artificial intelligence are increasingly leaking broadcasting services. The French broadcasting service Deezer said in September that nearly a third of the loaded tracks on its platform were born artificial intelligence. Last week, Spotify said it had removed “undesirable” paths of artificial intelligence 75 million last year.
“We are in discussions with companies that have ethically trained models that benefit artists and song writers,” said Sony Music, the third specialty and ADELE and Beyoncé.
Elliot Greenj, CEO of Atlantic Records, has grown up at the current moment with “NAPSTER and Limewire 2002 stage”, when new free music participation services rid the music industry, but he said it was “very rising” about this opportunity.
“We have seen an industry that loses 50, 60, 70 percent of its value … The posters bear the responsibility for negotiating the best deals for its artists – they are really good at that. They have learned from their mistakes in the past. They understand survival now because of that troubled period,” Greeng told the Financial Times last month.
He said: “I have a great belief in marriage that will be close to those who have rights and artists and artificial intelligence platforms.”
Executive officials have warned that the deals will be more complicated than those in the broadcast, as the impoverished organization can use music in unclear ways – not only playing songs or making paths – and artists may be cautious.
“What is different when you take the history of the entire music and feed it in a model that produces something that cannot be recognized. The question is: Will artists get on board?” One of the senior executives said.
This depends on the contract. Most of them say: “I trust you to do the right deals on my behalf. “It will be impossible to return to artists every time and ask,” Are you okay with this use of your music? “At some point, there will be a big previous deal.”
In 2024, the leading registration companies filed a lawsuit against Suno and Udio for violating copyright. But they are now talking to both startups, and they were hoping to reach the licensing agreements that would include a settlement for the previous use of their music, as people familiar with the discussions said.
