US President Donald Trump was reminded on Wednesday that FIFA, not any government, finally decides the cities that will host the 2026 World Cup games.

Trump suggested last week that he could announce “unsafe” cities of the 104 -game football championship and change a detailed hosting plan confirmed by FIFA in 2022. The American Football Association stadiums include New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

11 American host cities are contracted, in addition to three in Mexico and two in Canada (Toronto and Vancouver), with FIFA, which will face major logistical and legal issues to make changes in the eight months before the start of June 11.

“It is the FIFA, the FIFA judicial jurisdiction, FIFA takes these decisions.”

The Canadian president said the regional football committee in North America said that sport is “greater” than any current political discussion.

“With all the due respect to the current world leaders, football is bigger than them and football will escape their system, government and slogans,” Monttegliani said in an interview on the stage. “This is the beauty of our game, that it is greater than any individual and greater than any country.”

Trump’s comments last week were in response to a question about the World Cup cities that oppose his migration and a crime.

“If I think it is not safe, we will transfer it,” said the US President at the Oval Office.

FIFA football fans in Vancouver get a glimpse into the FIFA World Cup

The excitement in the FIFA 2026 World Cup is escalating for only 10 months until it goes until the big football happened. Earlier in the day, the fans have a chance to see the FIFA World Cup in Vancouver, while it was shown in Jack Paul Plaza. CBC News stopped chatting with fans who lined up to see the cup.

“Any city” will be a little dangerous to the World Cup, referring to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, “we will move it a little. But I hope that it will not happen.”

World Cup and Olympic Cup games depend on the governments of the host nation on all levels for hundreds of millions of dollars of security obligations, visas processing and law enforcement. The past four hosts of the Men’s World Cup are Qatar, Russia, Brazil and South Africa.

Trump has a close business relationship with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, a regular visitor visitor. Infantino publicly did not publicly comment on the issue of cities that are very dangerous to hosting games in the 48 teams that last July 19.
