Prosecutors say that three members of the Palestinian Armed Group have been arrested by allegedly planning attacks on Israeli and Judaism institutions in Germany.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Germany said that the three men – two German citizens and one of the Lebanese -born – suspected of buying firearms and ammunition since the summer to be used in the attacks.

The office added that the men, who called him Abed Al Gag, Will FM and Ahmed I, were arrested in Berlin on Tuesday. Their arrests came a day before the day of Kibor, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

Hamas – which controls Gaza and is considered a terrorist organization by the European Union – denied any link to men.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement on Wednesday that, during the arrests, “various weapons were found, including a 47 AK offensive rifle, several pistols, and a large amount of ammunition.”

He added: “The weapons were intended for use by Hamas in the assassination attacks on Israeli or Jewish institutions in Germany.”

Public prosecutors in Germany usually refer to the suspects only with their first and beginning.

The German media report was arrested when they met to hand over weapons in the capital.

Police inspections were also conducted in Leipzig and Uupzen cities at the time of Berlin’s arrest, according to the Deir Sibl.

The three were accused of preparing a serious work of violence that displays the German state and a member of a foreign terrorist organization.

The Federal Prosecutor said that the suspects would appear before a federal judge on Thursday.

Hamas said in a statement that the allegations against it were “baseless” and aimed at “undermining the sympathy of the German people with the Palestinian people.”

The group added that it has a policy to reduce its activities as it considers the Palestinian territories.

The arrests come after four Hamas members entered in Berlin in February, accusing of planning attacks on Jewish sites in Europe.
