Barcelona sports director Deco confirmed that Al -Katalani will not face a financial penalty if they decide not to take the option to sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent basis next summer.
Rashford moved to Barcelona on a season -long loan from Manchester United in July and started a positive start with a highlight of his goals in The Champions League 2-1 win in Newcastle two weeks ago.
Spanish champions can sign England internationally on a full -time basis if they wish, but Deco says they are free to make this decision without resorting to United if they choose to return him to Old Trafford.
Chelsea was bound to pay 5 million pounds when they decided not to sign Gadon Sancho permanently in June, but Barcelona is not in the same position.
In a large -scale interview with Mundo DeportivoDeco said: “There is no punishment, if we want to do so, we have a purchase option. It is too early to talk about the decisions of the next season, but what matters is that we are happy with it. What we thought could come to us, it contributes,” Deco said.
“He is a very high level player. He exploded very early (in his career) and had great seasons in United, then he had years of the most complex situations with changes in coaches, and it may have been difficult for him because they demanded a lot of things there. But we are happy with him, this is the most important thing.
“These are not decisions at the present time, and now it’s time to focus on the upcoming matches. A decision will be made but we are not talking about this now.”
There was no plan A, B and C – DECO
Barcelona had three options to fill the left hole during the summer: Rashford, Luis Diaz and Nico Williams.
Diaz ended in joining Bayern Munich from Liverpool, while Williams signed a new contract at Athletic Bilbao.
When it was placed on Deco that Diaz was “planning”, he said: “It is not an issue A or B.
“What I said is that we do not want to lose two important players. We were clear about what we could give up and what we could not. If we were able to improve in the areas that need to improve … when we saw last season, we were missing something there (on the left).
“We thought ANSU (FATI) would play this role. The season started well but then things did not turn, as he was disturbed.
“Louis Diaz fits with this, Rashford installed it, then the issue of negotiations. On the other side, there is a very high club, you are talking about Liverpool and United.
“With Díaz and Liverpool, from the first moment, it became very difficult with the unwillingness to sell and ended being impossible. The thing was initially complicated in the beginning but it became a little easier because United was more open to transportation.
“Then came Niko that we were not looking for. There is no plan A, B or C, although the press is normal. For us, everyone is a different player and has different qualities.”
Blame the agent, not Barcelona Lilims Row – Deco
This was the second consecutive summer from which Williams approached to join Barcelona only until the deal passed. This has led to a lot of teeth in Bilbao, but Deco says that those who are looking for someone who blames should focus on the player’s agent.
“We were not looking for their player, we have not yet gone their player,” he insisted on the former Barcelona midfielder and Portugal. “They should worry about the agent, who came to Barcelona several times to present the player.
“It is not a club problem. If one of our players gave permission to the agent to speak to other teams, we cannot get angry with others about it. We are moving. It is Bilbao player. It is a very simple situation. We sought the customer to go out, try to succeed.
