Australian tourist has become viral to challenge negative images of India on social media. Denkan McKinot, who is currently traveling throughout the country, said that online narration often highlights extremism, which distorts the reality on Earth.
He said in a wide video clip: “Social media has made a mistake in India. There is a negative bias on social media, and this means for India the people who photograph their tablets. In fact, India is a beautiful country full of rich culture, diverse landscapes and amazing people.”
McKenot admitted that India, like any country of 1.5 billion people, is facing its challenges, but said that the way it appears online is “deceitful”.
“I do not deny its problems … but as a person who has good Indian friends, it is sad to see how India is photographed by the world.”
He also promised to display “beautiful parts” in India over the next three months.
The video has already achieved more than 2.5 views of Cham and hundreds of supportive comments. One of the users wrote, “The hands below India are the most wonderful place you were.” Another said, “I loved India !! I spent 3 months there!”
Others echoed similar feelings: “I completely agree with this! I visited India last year and expected it not to be great, but I loved him completely and I was visiting again in a few weeks.” Another added, “My favorite is my favorite! Frankly, they have the best people and food in the world.”
In a separate clip, McKinot was seen saving a cow stuck in a dry depletion with the help of a local man. The video with him has ended with a simple and joking scraping, “as a finger scraping.”
