The European Commission launched a fight against monopoly in the German software giant Bait On Thursday, quoting concerns about the company’s practices in software support services.

According to the committee, the investigation will evaluate “whether SAP may have distorted the post -sales competition for maintenance and support services related to the local software type, licensed by the SAP, used to manage companies’ commercial operations.”

SAP said, in a statement on Thursday, that she believes that her policies and actions were fully compatible with the rules of European Union competition.

“However, we take the issues that were seriously raised and we are working closely with the European Union Committee to solve it,” said a spokesman. “We do not expect the European Commission to be linked to lead to material effects on our financial performance.”

SAP is one of the most valuable companies in Europe, with a market cost of about 282 billion euros (331 billion dollars).

The shares of the company fell on Thursday, and lost 1.4 % by 11:48 am in London (6:48 am EST).
