Opponents of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday denounced the worsening crackdown, 48 hours before he was sworn in over the election, which he is widely accused of stealing. FRANCE 24’s Mark Owen spoke to Amnesty International’s Valentina Ballista about the kidnapping of Carlos Correa, director of the press freedom NGO Espacio Publico, who was “intercepted in central Caracas by masked men presumed to be officials” of the regime.
