Jimmie Johnson comments on the settlement with Rick Ware Racing

Jimmie Johnson’s Legacy Motor Club and Rick Ware Racing settled their rented conflict on Septemnber 19. LMC will expand to a triple group through the RWR Charter.

Think about the same, Johnson spoke to NBC Sports and saidand

“Access to a positive result was an important thing for all concerned. I really respect the effort made by Ruby Benton and Rick Ware to reach a settlement, so we may all focus on our commercial operations and our future goals.”

Jimmie Johnson made a deal to secure a charter from RWR, but there were confusion over the acquisition year. RWR claimed that it was in 2027, while LMC was firm in the transfer of 2026. In response, LMC filed a law against RWR for violating the contract, and the latter filed their own suit.

Another restricted order was also secured by the LMC to prevent the sale of RWR to TJ Puchyr, believing that the sale of the team would disrupt the charter agreement. With the status of the charter at the end, LMC will now look for a third driver.

Johnson had previously alluded to Connor Zilish and Jesse Lofen as possible prospects. Since Zilisch has swept the TrackHouse race, love appears to be a clear favorite.
