MedCOENERGI to acquire a stake in the origins of Somatra in Ribsol

MedCOENERERGI, South Asia, has agreed to obtain operational interests in two decades for production participation (PSCS) in southern Sumatra, Indonesia, from Repsol, for $ 90 million (RP1.49TRN).

Under the terms of the deal, MEDCO will get 45 % of the Sakakemang PSC share and 80 % interest in Sakakemang PSC when receiving approval from the government of Indonesia.

Sakakemang PSC, adjacent to the current Medco in PSC, received the approval of the development plan from the Indonesian authorities.

The PSC Corridor is a traditional Ponchur gas field in Somatra, which includes seven gas fields and one oil field.

The acquisition follows the last medco purchase of PSC Corridor from Repsol For $ 425 million.

The company noted that its expansion strategy is in line with national energy security goals in Indonesia.

In addition to these acquisitions, MedConergi increased its share in Transportasi Gas Indonesia (TGI), which raised its effective ownership to 40 %.

The TGI TGI Natural gas pipeline from PSC is the Medco Corridor and other suppliers in South Sumatra and Jambi including RIAU, Batam and Singapore.

MedConergi focuses on exploring and producing oil and gas throughout Indonesia, and strategically focuses on extending its arrival across Southeast, Middle East and South Africa. The company runs a range of production assets.

In August 2025, the companies affiliated with MedConergi, Medco Energi Thailand (Bualuang) and Medco Energi Thailand (E & P) approval from the Thailand government to extend the production period for the Block B8/38 in Golf Thailand.
