The judge rejects the charges of terrorism against Luigi Manjion

A New York judge rejected two terrorism charges against Luigi Mangion, the alleged killer of the Chairman of the United Company, Health Carey Brian Thompson.

Judge Gregory Caro also ruled for second -degree murder against manganese could stand during a session on Tuesday morning.

He said that the prosecutors had failed to prove that there was sufficient evidence to justify the murder of terrorism they sought against Manji.

Mangarians accused of shooting Thompson on Manshan Street, in December last year.

In a written ruling, Caro said that the allegations against manganese did not fulfill the definition of terrorism under the state law.

Although the prosecutors argued that the writings left by manganese showed a motivation for terrorism, the judge said they failed to show that the suspect was aiming to pressure the government or intimidate the general population – the main provisions of the terrorist law in New York, which was issued in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

“No evidence was provided that the defendant submitted any demands of the government or request any specific change in government policy, not to mention this by intimidation or coercion.”

The first -degree murder charge was a life imprisonment sentence in prison without the possibility of conditional release.

If he is convicted of the remaining second degree murder, manganese face a minimum of 15 to 25 years in prison. He was also accused of weapons and forgery crimes.

In addition to the criminal procedures in New York State, manganese also face federal murder, which may lead to a death penalty.

Caro refused to request the defense team to delay the state’s trial until the end of the federal trial of Manjeun.

During the session on Tuesday, the judge stated that the trial hearing will start on December 1.
