WPL 2026 dates were finally revealed

The next version of the Premier League (WPL) is likely to play in early January 2026, where the tournament is likely to be completed before the start of the 2026 World Cup for men.

At the present time, the Mumbai Indians are the WPL defenders, after they overcame the capitals of Delhi for the second time in the finals. The Indians in Mumbai are more successful with two titles, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru won one title. Gujarat Giants and Up Warriorz are the other difference in WPL.

The fourth season of the Premier League, a championship at the franchise level for cricket men in India, is scheduled to be held in January 2026. Times of India stated that WPL has turned from the February March window to January.

The tournament was prepared due to its completion before the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, which will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The ICC event will be held in the same window as February March.

“The tournament is likely to start on January 6 or January 8, 2026,” a TOI source said. Its championship also means that the WPL auction, which is usually held in December, can be held in November this time.

WPL was cited as a reason behind the success of young Indian women

Before the opening match of the ODI series between India and Australia at the Punjab Mollanour Stadium, the Indian women’s captain Harmanberte Core also praised WPL for the way the Indian young people recently brought.

“The young cricket players in the India team were very exciting. Four or five years ago, there was a big gap between local and international cricket. But in the five years to the past six, with consecutive matches, young girls are better ready.”

“Players like Kraanti (Goud) and Pratika (Rawal) came ready, not as if they needed additional time. This is a great positive. WPL has also played a big role in closing this gap. I just hope they will continue to perform this road.”

Amol Mazumdar WPL currencies as an “integral part” of players’ progress

After the Indian team won the first T20i series ever against England on English lands, the lineage of the main coach, Amol Mazumdar, the achievement of India to local championships. He stated that WPL played a fundamental role in the success of the Indian crochet list.

“WPL was an integral part of the progress of the players. There is no doubt about it. But there are other tournaments also in India, which we really look at. There are many local players.”

“WPL is just part of the BCCI initiative. So, I think it was a happy hunting ground for us, WPL. But at the same time, there are other championships that take importance as well,” said the Indian women coach AMOL Mazumdar.
