The Group of Seven countries condemn the Iranian repression through national, and attacks on competitors

The members of the Group of Seven condemned the recent measures conducted by Iran on Friday, saying that the country is involved in national repression and attacks on political opponents in other countries.

In a statement issued by the rapid response mechanism of the Group of Seven, which is charged with confronting foreign intervention, the seven countries including Canada, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the European Union and the United Kingdom condemned the “transit of national borders and other malicious activities by Iran” reported by several countries.

The authors wrote: “According to these data, Iranian intelligence services have increasingly attempted to kill political opponents, kidnapping and harassment abroad, after a disturbing and unacceptable pattern of oppression across patriotism, and clearly undermine state sovereignty.”

“Other malicious activities include obtaining personal information and personal attacks designed to divide and detect societies.”

Iran was one of the countries that were distinguished earlier this year through the general investigation of Canada in foreign interference. In its latest report, Judge Mary Jose Hug found that Iran was involved in national repression in Canada, especially among the Canadian population of Iranian origin.

“The government evaluates Iran as a major threat across patriotism because it is likely to monitor, influence, collect information, harass the Iranian diaspora society, harass and intimidate it to prevent Iran’s criticism,” he wrote.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond after requesting to comment on the G7 statement from CBC News.
