Nigerian experimental tests are positive for alcohol after the plane deviated from the runway

A pilot and pilot participated positively for alcohol after the plane they were working in the runway when landing in Nigeria.

Nigerian Safety Investigation (NSIB) examined the husband after the accident in July, at Port Harkort International Airport. In addition, a member of the crew made a positive test of hemp.

All 103 people on board the Boeing 737 at the time of the accident were unharmed.

Air Peace, the company that runs the trip, said that the 64 -year -old pilot has been excluded for his failure to adhere to safety regulations, while the two participants have since returned to his role.

In a statement, Air Peace said that the co -pilot was acquitted by national organizations and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (Nigeria), after preliminary investigations and a clean health bill.

NSIB tests found that the pilot and the joint pilot had experienced positive for ethyle Glucorone (ETG), indicating the consumption of the last alcohol.

A member of the cabin crew has also demonstrated positively to THC, which is the psychological component missing in hemp.

In a statement, Air Peace said she had not received any NSIB toxicity test results.

“We have not yet received any official contact from NSIB regarding such results after a month of the accident and after testing the alcohol that occurred in less than an hour of the accident,” said Air Peace.

The pilot had a total flight at more than 18,000 hours, while the 28 -year -old co -pilot had nearly 1,200 hours.

NSIB says his investigations are still in progress. Currently, it recommended improved training and enhancing internal procedures.

Although there is no plane crash in Nigeria for several years, there are cases of aircraft that exceed the runway and tires that explode during the landing.

Earlier this month, aviation authorities launched a new airline data center aimed at improving the safety of aircraft, but stakeholders say more preventive measures and improve technology needs to be deployed in the sector.
