Companies will have to partner with government, local, tribal or regional governments to apply for the program. The Federal Aviation Administration says it will agree to at least five projects that can work for up to three years, cover short -range air taxis, long -term fixed wings, cargo withdrawal, logistical services and supply for emergency or medical purposes, and “increase automation safety”.
