Robin Amorim, Manchester United president, stressed that Altay Bayindir begins Derby’s goal against City on Sunday after he confessed to the club “needs to be changed.”
The decision comes after Andre onana left the Turkish side TBZONSPOR on loan after he struggled to make a positive impact on Old Trafford.
His only appearance for this season was to defeat the Carabao Cup against Grimsby before the international break.
The club brought the Belgian Saint Lamamin shot as a substitute, but it will have to wait until its appearance in the Premier League exceeds this week.
Speaking at his press conference before the match, Amorim said: “Altay will continue. It is a different league, a different country, a different training, a different ball.
“So we will try to keep it and they will fight for this position, but for me this game is clear, Altay will start.”
“Lamms is a goalkeeper who has a lot of capabilities. I know that we are in a moment when the goalkeeper needs to be really strong and have a lot of experience.
“We are also at the moment when we have to look at the present time but also focus on the future – so it is a few of the two. He is a man with great potential is another option (for us) to play, and he will be ready.”
“We have an option that can give us different things now but we also have a great possibility to be our goalkeeper for several years, and that was out of the end.
“I think we understood that this needs to be changed and sometimes it is difficult to refer to the reason. Sometimes this moment is, bad luck at some moments.
“It is difficult for him, we have to think about us to have a change in goalkeepers, but I wish the best for Andrea Unana.
“It was really good at work and trying to help players, but sometimes you can get all the quality in the world but you need to change.”
Cunha update
The fans were sweating on the physical fitness to sign Star Summer Matheus Cunha after taking roads before the international break.
But although there were two weeks to rest, Amorim had no good news about the Brazilian, nor in Mason Mount or Diogo Dalot.
He added, “They went out to this game. I don’t know how long it will take.
“We need our men to be a very competitive team, but we have very good players who are keen to play, so we will be able to compete on Sunday but they are outside. They cannot help us in this game.
“If you talk to her being, he will say that he is able to play this game. So I don’t know. We will manage day by day. They are pushing heavily and this is a good thing.”
