The Supreme Court in Israel says that Palestinian prisoners are not futile enough

On Sunday, the Supreme Court in Israel ruled that the government failed to provide Palestinian security prisoners with sufficient food for the main subsistence and ordered the authorities to improve their nutrition.

The decision was a rare case in which the country’s highest court was sentenced against government behavior during a war for about two years.

Since the war began, Israel has seized thousands of people in Gaza who suspected of having ties to Hamas. Thousands were also released without charge, and often after months of detention.

Rights groups have documented widespread abuse in prisons and detention facilities, including insufficient food and health care, as well as bad health conditions and beating. Sunday’s ruling came in response to a petition submitted by the Association of Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) last year and the Israeli rights group as an army. On Sunday’s ruling, a committee of three judges ruled that the state is legally obligated to provide the prisoners with enough food to ensure a “basic level of existence.”

In the ruling 2-1, the judges said that they found “indicating that the current food supplies of prisoners do not guarantee adequate compliance with legal standards.” They said that they found “real doubts” that the prisoners were eating properly and ordered the prison service “to take steps to ensure the provision of food that allows the basic subsistence conditions according to the law.”

Bin Ghafir, who is leading an extremist party on the right -wing right -wing, by the court’s decision, saying that although the Israeli hostages in Gaza have no one to help them, the Supreme Court of Israel “Treasen” defends Hamas militants. ACRI called for the implementation of the judgment immediately. In a post on the social media platform X, she said that the prison service “turned Israeli prisons into torture camps.”

“The state does not starve to people,” she said. “People do not starve people – regardless of what they did.”
