Ariana Grande Offers ‘Something New’ to Fans After ‘Wicked’

Golden Globe Award nominee Ariana Grande (aka Ariana Grande Butera) is already teasing her next big project.

On the heels of her breakout role in the big movie version of “Wicked,” the 31-year-old multi-faceted artist talks about what fans can expect from her in the coming months.

Grande recently expressed her desire to remain active in the acting world following her performance in “Wicked” as the future Good Witch of Oz, Galinda/Glinda Upland.

While walking the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday night, Grande answered questions from reporters about potential new music plans.

“It’s not something I’m thinking about right now,” the performer admitted, “but, you know, there’s something I made last year that’s eventually coming out. It’s got ‘Eternal Sunshine’ attached. So, that’s out there, and it’s going to come out at some point.”

Grande released her seventh album, “Eternal Sunshine,” last March, and it received praise from fans and critics. Led by the debut single “Yes, And?”, it became the singer’s sixth No. 1 album on the Billboard Top 200.

Although it is currently unclear what said “linkage” could look like, Grande has previously spoken about her plans to extend the shelf life of “Eternal Sunshine” as much as possible.

In an Instagram post from April, she expressed: “I can’t wait for everything that’s (yet) to come within this (album) cycle (that’s just begun and may never end).”

To Grande’s credit, she’s already fulfilled that promise twice.

“I’m not in the studio right now,” Grande later stated Sunday evening.

Unfortunately, Grande failed to score a win during this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

The young actress was originally nominated in the actress category for Best Supporting Performance in a Motion Picture for “Wicked,” but lost the award to Zoe Saldana for her role in “Emilia Pérez.”

However, Grande appeared on stage with Wicked’s main cast, including Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum, to support director John Cho in winning the Film and Box Office Achievement Award.

While accepting the award, Zhou gave cry To the film’s “beautiful” cast and his parents, who he says adored “The Wizard of Oz.”

Last week, Grande picked up her first accolade of the year for “Wicked”: a Rising Star Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. This is her first major acting achievement.

In the clip that has gone viral, Grande as Galinda Upland sits studying with fellow student and best friend Elphaba Throop (Erivo), the future Wicked Witch of the West, as they appear to be preparing for a lesson with Madame Morrible (Yeoh). .

After Galinda tries and fails to get a coin to fly into the air, she asks Elphaba about leaving it behind on a journey to release a lion cub locked in a cage with Fierro, Galinda’s love interest (played by “Bridgerton” star Jonathan Bailey).

“I was going to help you,” Galinda says frankly. “If you need someone, it could be me.”

The emotional confession prompts Elphaba to look at her friend with new sympathy, and she makes a pact.

“I’m sorry. I made a mistake,” she told Galinda. “I won’t leave you behind again.”
