This included an updated flagship from HP’s gaming brand, the Omen Max 16. To keep performance as fast as possible, HP used a hybrid thermal paste called Cryo Compound, a mixture of liquid metal and mineral grease. Combined with the company’s Tempest Cooling system that increases airflow, you can expect better gameplay and less thermal throttling. Also, since dirty fans are the enemy of effective cooling, HP has implemented a simple solution to help reduce dust collection: the laptop will sometimes run the fans in the opposite direction slightly to prevent dust buildup.

Of course, what would a laptop ad be these days if it didn’t include some reference to artificial intelligence. Not only is the laptop powerful enough to help develop and use AI, HP has added some of its own features to help improve your gaming experience: Omen Amnesty International. With one click, it can scan your PC and recommend system, OS and game settings to get you the fastest frame rates and optimized performance. It learns over time, so it will continue to provide you with the best personalized settings. It’s currently in beta and only supports Counter-Strike 2, but HP says it will add more titles.

The laptop looks great too. It still has that gaming laptop vibe, especially with the RGB keyboard lights and optional light bar on the front. But its clean lines and discreet openings keep things largely quiet, so it won’t look out of place in the office. It will be available in gray and black, but the Ceramic White color I saw makes a strong impression.

Look for the Omen Max 16 in the coming months.
