The Sony CES 2025 keynote is starting soon and you can watch it and follow our live coverage here. The Afeela electric car dominated Sony’s 2023 and 2024 press conferences at CES, and that trend looks set to continue this year, with an appearance at a Sony event (and a follow-up press conference). It has already been confirmed. This marks a change for Sony, one of the key players at CES, best known for its decades in consumer electronics with Walkman portables and old Trinitron TVs along with PlayStation consoles and next-generation Alpha cameras.

Afeela is the first product of Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between the Japanese electronics and transportation giants. After a A surprise launch at CES 2023the Sony CES compressor provided additional details about the electric vehicle’s LiDAR-heavy sensor array and AI-enhanced cabin technology (the latter coming with help from Microsoft) in Consumer Electronics Show 2024. If the previously announced waypoints for scheduling the car — pre-orders in 2025 before availability in 2026 — remain intact, we’re hoping to hear which details the Afeela concept car will actually be a success once it hits real-world streets.
