According to the Grand Indian Festival, a major international cultural initiative presented by the NITA MUKESH Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) a few days before its opening scheduled at the Lincoln Center in New York.

The three -day event, which is part of the weekend in India in Damrosch Park, was set from September 12 to 14.

The organizers confirmed the decision in a general statement, pointing to the “unexpected conditions”, but they did not provide more interpretation.

“With deep regret that we share that the weekend at NMACC India in New York, to be opened on September 12, 2025, was postponed due to unexpected conditions,” a statement said.

The postponement coincides with the escalating trade tensions between the United States and India, including high mutual tariffs and increased organizational scrutiny.

The festival was expected to be characterized by a coordinated collection of classic and contemporary shows, which extend for music, dance, theater and fashion. It has been described as the largest cultural awareness in NMACC outside India so far.

“This is not a cancellation, only temporarily stopped, and we are completely committed to bringing NMACC experience to New York at a later time,” the statement said, adding that the team plans to return “with the joy and renewal of pride and purpose.”

No revised dates have been announced, and it is still unclear whether the festival will be rescheduled before the end of the year.
