On Sunday, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged to solve their border differences and enhance cooperation, before the opening of a regional summit in Tianjin.
Moody on his first visit to China because the relations between the two countries deteriorated after the Chinese and Indian soldiers participated in fatal border clashes in 2020. Moody visits as part of India’s membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a regional political, economic and security group established by China.
In his opening statements, Modi said that relations with China had moved in a “meaningful direction”, adding that “there is a peaceful environment on the border after decomposition.”
She said that he hoped that the Tianjin meeting “Yazid” and “enhancing continuous, healthy and stable development for bilateral relations will increase,” according to CCTV.
“The two sides should not let” the issue of the borders does not allow the definition of the total relationship of China and India, “she said, adding that the economic development of both countries must be its main axis.
Xi said: “As long as they are committed to the comprehensive goal of being partners, not their competitors, and providing development opportunities, not threats, relations between China and India will flourish and move forward steadily.”
Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who arrived in Tianjin on Sunday, will meet both leaders in the coming days.
Earlier in August, the best diplomat of China Wang Yi traveled to New Delhi, where the two sides announced their convergence. Both governments pledged to restore border talks, resume visas and issue direct flights.
Wang’s visit coincided with US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a 50 percent tariff on India because of his purchase of Russian oil, but the process of rebuilding Delhi with Beijing was working for months.
China and India this year have increased official visits and discussed alleviating some restrictions on trade and people’s movement across the border. In June, Beijing Pilgrims from India allowed the sacred sites in Tibet.
