Spoilers In front of the last episode of “Alien: Earth”.
“Alien: Earth” by Noah Hawley is great for several reasons, one of which does not seem (so far) that everything that is interested in being pre -for the “alien” movie privilege. Certainly, he does not try to start everything far, either; It was identified two years ago before “Alien”, and it is clearly trying the series to have a closer optical aesthetic stick to the 1979 Ridley Scott. While Holie and other chain managers definitely impose the shooting patterns and their pieces on their episodes, the production and Maginot production design constantly remember Nostromo from Scott. In fact, the references to “alien” have become equal “Alien: romulus” last year was full of gestures to every movie “Alien” at all.
However, “Alien: Earth” may have additional reasons to keep Maginot very similar to Nostromo. For one reason, Holi appears to call many direct comparisons between characters and attitudes in “Earth” with “Alien” films. For example, the only survivor of Maginot is Morrow (Babou Center), a person who loses a child while stopping in space and is seen by Weyland-Yutani as a consumer, all of which makes him look like Elien Ribli significantly. For another thing, it seems that the series addresses the “strange” flag that has not been expanded by films. One of these topics is the hierarchical sequence and the political situation on the same land, especially with regard to Weyland-Yutani and its continuous impact. So, while “Alien: Earth” seems to be mainly interested in her characters and independent story, she may plan to explain how Weyland-Yutani has become such a majority force in the future of “Alien”, and Maginot mission may be the key.
Meaning of Magnot
Even before searching where the name Maginot comes, choosing the same name is broken by the traditions of “alien” a little. The majority of the names of the space ship in the “strange” universe derived from the works of Joseph Conrad, thanks to Scott choosing the name Nostromo for the first movie ship, which was taken from Conrad’s novel in 1904 of the same name. When James Cameron made “Foreigners”, he continued to honor Scott Conrad and take the name of Sulako from a town in the same novel for his main movie ship. Although “Alien 3” does not happen on the spacecraft, the company’s ship that was sent to a Ribeli recovery is called Patna, a ship in Conrad’s novel “Lord Jim”. From there, Conrad’s references ended for a while, with the “foreigner: the resurrection” that she calls on her ship to Orga after a constellation (not the Wieland Utani bowl, anyway), ships in “Prometheus” and “Foreign: The Covenant” have hearing names, which highlight the interest of these films. “Foreign: Romulus” was in both directions; The main space station of the Romulus and Remus figures is called the movie Corbelan, an other name in “Nostromo” in Conrad.
For “Alien: Earth”, Noah Holie intentionally avoids the name of her space ship after the character of Joseph Conrad, indicating that the title of the ship given has a greater weight than one expects. It is very likely that the name Maginot will be a reference to the true French Minister of War during the twenties of the twentieth century, and Andre Maginot, a man who was famous in an incitement known as Maginot Line. This project sought to establish fortifications, obstacles and weapons installations to prevent Nazi Germany from invading during the first days of the Second World War. Unfortunately, the line was not completed as planned, and he had enough weaknesses that the German soldiers were able to overcome, which helped to invade France and the Allied forces that require evacuation. In short, the failure of the Maginot line led to a disaster, enough The same name means “a defensive barrier or a strategy that inspires a false sense of safety.” Thus, Uscss Maginot in “Alien: Earth” is governed by simply baptizing it, and it was surprising that Xenomorph was on the craft and caused the land in the center of a populated city, was not a surprise at Weyland-Yutani.
Can the world go to the war of companies in the foreigner: the land?
But while the name Maginot can simply be the referral of Sfic to the fateful ship’s flight, there is another reason for its name, which we might mean by Weyland-Yutani already. Although Maginot’s mission (which, unlike Nostromo, it appears to be publicly connected to its crew) to get Xenomorph eggs and transfer them to the ground, it is one Basically, the basic interest of Weyland-Yutani was within the entire “Alien” privilegeWe have never obtained a brief explanation for the reason for the company’s desire for a foreigner. Certainly, the idea of an unscrupulous company that wants to pillage the market on a vital weapon does not need a lot of detail, but “alien: Earth” draws a political image greater than just the greed of companies. We were told in Mashhad from episode 4, “Note”, that the ancient world system for individual governments “did not succeed” and that five companies entered power instead: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Thrill, dynamic, and lynch. Although we have not seen many last three companies in the series (so far), the clear competitiveness and hostility between Prodigy and Weyland-YTani means that the relationships between the five are not all friendly.
Seeing how USCSS MAGINOT got not only Xenomorph but four other types of exotic, and it seems that weyland-YTani does more than just collecting or building an animal garden. Five murderous and five major companies can be Holly, which makes a sophisticated symbolic story, but may also indicate that Weyland-Yutani is actively preparing for war with other companies, and decided to make these fatal creatures their initial weapons, perhaps because of their history with judicial tasks and tasks. After all, we still do not know where you took all these types; Maginot may have visited Planet 4 after the era, or perhaps David 8 finally arrived at Origae-6 and did some twisted scientific experiences there. All we know from the future “alien” premiums is that weyland-Yutani seems to have a majority control on the ground, and to operate places like Gateway Station and that they are everywhere that the characters refer to it simply as “the company” and not as one of the five. In addition, although the hybrid of Prodigy appears to be a priority for Cavalier (Samuel Blander) only for his own entertainment, it is possible that he secretly considers it a major weapon for his company in a coming conflict as well. Whatever the situation, it is a safe bet that in the future of the “foreign” universe, people will end with screaming, whether they are in space or on Earth.
