The National Museum of Denmark revealed what it described as the “image” of the first Viking: a miniature statue in the tenth century that depicts a man with an imperial Sharp, a taught beard and a hall hairdresser.
Carved from tusk from ivory, partially damaged representation of the head and the trunk measures only 1.2 inches).
“If you are thinking about Vikings as brutality or wild, this number proves the opposite.”

“He has a center that agrees to the top of his head, then in the neck his hair is beheaded.”
It has a side wave that leaves the ear visible, as well as a large mustache and long -guided Goate, has rings.
During the Vikings era, beautiful hair was a sign of wealth and standing, as Bentz explained.
“Hair design like him, which is very elegant – you can see a little hair or hair strands that run over the ears – (suggests) this man on top.”
“The king himself, King Harald Bluetooth.”
The artwork, which is believed to be an ancient gameplay that represents a king, was originally found in the Oslo Strait in Norway in 1796.
It has been placed far and forgotten in the archives of the National Museum in Denmark since then.
When Pentz stumbled on the statue in the large museum collections a few years ago, he said he felt that the Vikings were looking at it.
Detailed sculptures contrast with other images of Vikings – on things like coins – which feature individual details or face expressions.
Viking Age is known for its distinctive animal forms, but it rarely depicts humans.
“This is the first thing that approaches a picture of the Vikings I saw,” Pentz said.
“The most surprising thing for me is his expression. Most Viking offers for human figures are very simple, and they are not really human.”
But this is a unique one with his attention in detail.
“He looks demonic, and some people say. But I think it is like he was telling a joke or something like that. He is smiling.”
