Almost a decade after a man was convicted of killing a Tennessee nursing student, Defense requests the judge to conduct a new trial, citing the acceptance of the main witness in manufacturing.

Holly Bubo, 20, disappeared from her country house in 2011, which sparked an intense research that ended in her body after more than three years.

Zakari Adams and two other men were accused of kidnapping Bubo, rape and murder, as Adams was the only defendant who chooses to go to the trial. Then he was convicted of all charges in 2017 and sentenced to life imprisonment in addition to an additional 50 years.

During the Adams trial, the main witness, Jason Utri, spoke in graphic details about how to kidnap and rape before it was wrapped in a blanket, and was thrown into the back of the Beck Aug truck and was killed under a bridge near a local river.

“It looked like a mutation, a boom, a boom, under this bridge,” Ottari told jury. “It was just one shot, but she repeated. Birds went everywhere, all under this bridge. Then only dead silence for only one.”

Since the investigators have never found the DNA evidence linking Adams Bubo, the prosecution was primarily relied on a testimony from the witnesses and fellow of Adams prisoners, who claimed that he talked about Bubo’s harm after the killing.

The dramatic experience included an emotional certificate, as Bubo Karen’s mother collapsed on the witness platform.

Utre later admitted that he was guilty of the least charges after the judge praised him for his testimony, and he was sentenced to eight years in prison. He was released in 2020.

Adams’s brother, John Dylan Adams, also admitted guilty and sentenced to 35 years in prison.

However, in the 2024 court file known as the Cram Nobis, Zakari Adams revealed that Autry is backing from his testimony and requested a new trial. Adams claimed automatics that made his story in an attempt to keep himself from prison.

Months ago, Utre met Dr. Katy Spearco, a psychiatric specialist in forensic and secret medicine, and he admitted to making the story after his lawyer warned him that he was “95 % sure of the conviction”, before the trial of 2017, according to the petition.

“Autry) made everything.” “Because he knew that any of them would not be convicted was very low, and he wanted to save his skin.”

McClindon said that Utre previously expressed regret after his testimony.

“Dr. Spiro told him when he left the trial mainly after Zach was buried, he was dismayed because he knew that he had placed an innocent man in prison,” McClindon said.

According to the petition, Autry admitted to drafting the story in his dungeon in prison while looking at the evidence of discovery, while relying on mobile phone data to deliver details.

“This is a man who told a jury that he began to try to hide what was believed to be the body of Holly Bobo, and he ended up to attend when she was already killed,” said Maclandon. “So you can ask yourself, how does a man move from the death penalty to any additional time for this role at all? How does that happen? The answer is that the claim will later say that without Jason Utre’s testimony, they could not condemn this man-and this is just advice from the ice.”

However, the assistant prosecutor Jennifer Nichols insisted that the contact with Adams should be supported by the testimonies of the oath certificates, and wrote that the certificate that has been submitted since then-which was submitted to the court in a video interview-“I looked at it with no confidence.”

Nichols said earlier that Adams had been convicted without the testimony of Utre, while referring to the “acceptance” Adams, the ocean with the death of Bobo.

Last year, one of the judge stood up to the prosecution by granting the state’s request to refuse Adams’s petition for a new trial, as he eventually failed to prove an excuse for Adams or indicate the evidence of another person on guilt.

The judge wrote in his decision: “The new statements of Mr. Utre do not leave this court without a doubt serious or great that Mr. Adams is really innocent.”

Autry lawyer refused the Fox News Digital request for comment.

Earlier this year, Adams returned to the court to attend a post -conviction hearing, as the judge eventually sentenced a video to retract his testimony was not acceptable in the court, according to Court TV. The session was temporarily suspended while Adams appealed the decision.

However, the Tennessee Court of Appeal refused to hear the appeal and the case is scheduled to appeal in November, with hearings restarted earlier this month.

Adams’s lawyer and Hardin County Lawyer Office did not immediately respond to the Fox News Digital request for comment.

In light of Adams’s pursuit of a new trial, McLendon hopes that his condemnation will be canceled and that the authorities focus on finding the actual Bobo killer.
