Males are “sexually stimulating” to avoid marriage of relatives

A male killer whale is stimulated in a closed marine zoo by his coaches to prevent him from the inside with his mother.

Marineland Antibes was closed in January But the French managers, government and animal rights activists did not agree on a place or how OCAS should be rehabilitated.

The closure comes before French law enters in December, which prohibits the use of whales in the marine zoo shows.

The dilemma still means that the couple – Wiki, 24, and her 11 -year -old son Kigu – are still kept in swimming pools and their coaches in the facility in southern France.

Last week, the group of activists tidebreakers got upper shots showing two coaches standing on the edge of a swimming pool next to Keijo as a upside down head.

One of the coaches holds the educator, where the other stimulates the whale, who can be seen wrinkle in the water.

Wiki can be seen in a neighboring pool in the face of the place where her son is detained. Keeping them in separate gatherings is permanently harmful to their well -being because Orcas is social animals.

The shots were captured on August 12 and the managers of Marineland BBC News told the procedure that Keijo reached the stage of adolescence and has increasingly strong sexual urgency.

“In order to avoid marriage with his mother, but also to prevent them from fighting and injuring each other, Marinland decided to motivate Kigu (to ease his tension).”

“Although this is amazing, it is normal and completely painful for animals,” Manager adds.

The French Ministry of Environment, which must agree to the place of reorganization of Orca, says it was reported by Marinland that Kejo is stimulating once a month and that a veterinarian has been consulted about this process.

Valerie Green, a member of Tidebreakers who worked in Seaworld Orlando for a decade, tells us that Keijo stimulation for sexual comfort is unusual.

“As a former coach in the killer whale, I have never seen this behavior to be performed for anything other than the semen group attempt to use artificial insemination.”

Female OCAS can be destroyed in the captive in the marine zoos artificially to multiply the multiplication of calves, which can be used later to attract more visitors and performance in shows.

This was very common until the past decade when laws were issued in countries, including France and the United States, and have banned many reproductive practices.

However, the reproductive laws in Japan are less strict and activists believe that the managers of the marine zoo may be interested in buying Semen Orca after the only male Orca died in the country, on August 3.

More than a week after his death, Marinland’s coaches were seen stimulating Kigo.

“Keijo Inbred, so it is more important that the semen may be used to breed the captive Orcas,” says Green. Kejo’s mother and her father are not distorted.

Marinland managers deny that this is the reason why Kejo stimulates. They add the sale of semen prohibited and any export will need permission from the French government.

The French Ministry of Environment says that Marinland also told them that there is no intention to collect and export the Orca liquid for reproduction.

“Regardless of logic, it is sad that this is a priority when Kejo strongly needs to save it because his environment is not safe,” Green says.

“The idea that coaches provide sexual relief to ORCA … is a new decrease in morally bankrupt practices in the manufacture of families.”

• November 2024: Environment Minister Agnès Pannier-Runaracher rejects a request from Marineland to transfer Orcas to a marine zoo in Japan.

• January 2025: Marinland Antibes holds its last width before closing. The active groups call for the transfer of Orcas to a proposed whale haven in Canada, but this is rejected by the Ministry of Environment.

Since then there have been significant developments about the place where the husband may end and the position of a European haven has been developed for them.

There were also increasing concerns about the circumstances in Marinland and whether it was safe for Wiki and Kejo to stay there.

Two weeks ago, Pannier-Runacher released another video on Instagram in which she tried to calm concerns about OCAS and said regularly of gatherings was taking place.

Catherine Wise, director of the wildlife campaign to protect the charitable animal, who was monitoring the situation, tells us: “It is fair to say that the French government’s negativity when it comes to enabling alternatives to these animals, and communicating with the organizations participating in developing the vocational campus alternatives, and it leads to unexpected parties (in rehabilitation).”

Animal animals after the zoo closing are often difficult, especially for large animals that require larger facilities and higher levels of care.

When the living coasts, a marine zoo in Devon, announced its closure in 2020, managers warned that they might have to get rid of animals that they could not find new homes. Ultimately, places were found for them all.

After closing the Orasa Predator Park in Sweden in 2022, some polar bears did not find new homes until the following year. Two of Bears were transferred to Sofolk But one died shortly after his arrival.

After a French court was asked, experts’ evaluation of Marinland facilities is implemented and whether orcas should be transferred and dozens of dolphins that are still there.

The French Ministry of Environment told us: “The workplace that the ministry has established, under the leadership of the Environmental Ambassador Barbara Pompeli, is working to determine a coordinated strategy at the European level of Orcas and Dolphins, especially those in Marinland.”

For Marketa Schusterova, the video photographer who participated in the establishment of Tidebreakers, the Wikie and Keijo mode is dark.

“We were calling for building a temporary tank and its families until the haven is ready, but we are concerned that we have passed this point. The time is running out,” she says.
