At the Summit of the first summit on Saturday, South Korean President Lee Jay Meong and Japanese Prime Minister Shigro Ishiba stressed the need to overcome historical disputes and focus on common challenges alongside their mutual ally, the United States. The two leaders pledged to cooperate in clean energy, artificial intelligence and demographic issues such as low -birth rates and aging of the population, as well as preventing disasters. They also reaffirmed their commitment to work jointly, and with Washington, towards stopping North Korea’s nuclear programs and missiles.
