In a surprising step, the southern region settled themselves in trouble by facing the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI). They publicly challenged BCCI policy to include a central contracting players in their team in Duleep Trophy 2025.

Large names such as KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar, Sai Sudharsan and Prasidh Krishna, all of which were part of the India test in England, were overlooked for Duleep Trophy 2025 although it was not part of the Asian Cup 2025.

The southern region determinants have made clear that they will not add KL Rahul, Mohamed Siraj, Washington Sun, Sai Sudharsan and Prasidh Krishna to Duleep Trophy 2025, because they do not want to be unfair for local stars.

BCCI sent its instructions a few weeks ago, expected to be followed by all regions, but the southern region chose a different path. Instead of following BCCI directions, they adhere to the team that I named in July, with Tilak Varma as the only central player on the side.

Southern region officials believe that Ranji Trove artists deserve their chance to play in the Dolv Cup, and if BCCI wants to see the best stars in the local cricket game, they must delegate their participation in the Ranji Cup or the use of India to test them.

Why did not KL Rahul, Mohamed Siraj and other Indian stars reach Duleep Trophy 2025?

“The state of Kerala qualified for the final of Ranji Trove (for the first time on the date of 90 editions of the competition) and lost it with a very narrow difference.
