Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, who is recognized by the United States and many countries as president-elect, urged the military on Sunday to recognize him as commander-in-chief. The appeal comes amid his international campaign challenging the authority of President Nicolas Maduro, in the wake of disputed election results and the president’s impending inauguration on January 10.
