The passengers were from China, India, the Philippines, the Middle East and the United States on the bus when it was fully shattered.

The authorities said that five people were killed and many were injured when a tourist bus returns to New York City from Niagra Falls with 54 people on board and shattered on its side on a highway between the states.

A police spokesman said the bus left the road on a highway, about 40 km (25 miles) east of the northern city of Buffalo on Friday.
