How to save all your TikToks before the ban in January 2025

Imminent Ban Tik Tokscheduled for January 19, 2025, is becoming increasingly imminent.

On December 6thA US appeals court has upheld a law requiring ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok, to either pull the app or face a nationwide ban. This decision highlights growing concern about the app’s ties to China and potential risks to national security. We could be without the widely popular video streaming app for the next couple of weeks.

If you’re a TikTok user, especially a content creator, you’re probably worried about a number of things. Will TikTok really disappear in January? Are there any similar apps you can switch to? Will all your TikTok videos be deleted?

If you’re worried about the latter, you should consider saving all the videos you’ve posted on TikTok. Otherwise they might be lost to the ether. The good thing is that it’s easy to do.

How to download all your TikTok videos on iPhone and Android

On your Apple or Android device, open the TikTok app and tap Introductory account At the bottom left of the navigation bar. Now go to any video you’ve posted, tap the three-dot menu button at the bottom right, then tap Save the video button. This will download the video to your phone’s video library.

If you have drafts that you want to save, the process is similar but not exactly the same. Go to Drafts, tap a video, then tap Save In the menu to the right of the editor.

Once you exit, be sure to save your draft or it may be deleted.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to do this for every video at once, so it can get cumbersome if you have dozens, or even hundreds, of videos posted on TikTok.
