The Serbian President calls for a “democratic dialogue” with anti -vers demonstrators | News protest

The opposition party rejects the possibility of talks, as President Alexander Fuzic urges the discussion after nine months of angry protests.

The popular president in Serbia called for dialogue with the anti -government demonstrators in the Balkan country after more than nine months of demonstrations that stabbed his rule.

“Serbia must solve its problems with democratic dialogue, not violence,” President Alexander Vogic wrote in a post accompanied by a video clip that he participated on Instagram on Friday.

He added: “I invite the representatives of the siege movement to conversation and a public discussion about the visions, to discuss our plans and programs for the future and all of them condemn violence in our streets.”

In the video address of his office in Belgrade, Vocic said he was ready to speak with student representatives and other anti -government demonstrators, including television discussions.

“I suggest … discussion and discussion about all our TV devices, on all our gates (the Internet) with legal actors, that is, those who choose it,” Vocic said.

The most famous protests across Serbia were pushed with the death of 16 people when they roofed on a railway station that was renewed in Novey Sad Collapse Last November.

The demonstrators blamed corruption in the station’s disaster and demanded the early elections in the hope of the expulsion of Vocic and its party.

It also accuses the government of using violence against political competitors and suppressing media freedoms. The government denies all allegations.

The protests were mainly peaceful until early this month, when dozens of police officers and civilians were injured in the clashes, and hundreds were arrested.

“I want us to face visions … to resolve this through dialogue and conversation … No conflict, not violence. To rebuild the country again, to restore it to the right track where it was nine months ago,” said Vocic.

Savo Manouglovich, head of the Central Opposition Change Party, rejected the possibility of talks.

“The president who resorted to violence is not a person you can discuss on political issues, as this is a corrupt government that tramples on … democracy and human rights,” said Manoglovich.

“You do not make a fire department with a burning.”

The second and final presidency in Vocic ends in 2027, when the parliamentary elections are also due.

Student representatives said that they will be discussed with Vocic only during an electoral campaign.

“It (Vocic) does not have an answer to the popular rebellion … we will discuss … during the campaign, after announcing the elections,” Belgrade -based philosophy -based students said in a statement.
