Graham Potter still believes in his player in West Ham, despite his disappointing start for the Premier League season.
The hammers were crushed 3-0 in the newly promoted Sunderland last Saturday After a screen in the second half, the trip to the victory witnessed.
It was a relatively quiet summer on the transport front, where he brought Potter in Jean -Kller Todibo, Al Hadji Malik Dioff and Mads Hermansen, but former Chelsea president believes that there is still enough quality within the group to succeed this season.
It is not a matter of bringing new players – Potter
Speaking before the home game Night Night with Chelsea, he said: “We have to get out more of the team we have. We also look forward to improvement, and we will do so together, as a club, we will do it collectively and try to find the best solutions.
“It is great when you have a bad result, and everyone thinks that the silver bullet will come from the outside and save us all. History will suggest that it is not like that.
“It comes to being a team and accepting criticism when it comes as a bad result, but to continue your work and accept responsibility.”
“It is up to us to respond.”
The defeat on the opening day was a realistic setback for West Ham and Potter realizes that the pressure will increase if there is a lot.
He added: “It is a disappointing result, there is no away from it. It is a bad result for us.
“I think a lot in the players, I believe a lot in the team, I think a lot in the club and my work is their support, payment and improvement.
“It is the Premier League, we cannot come anywhere and believe that we will get three points. We know that we need to do more, to improve our performance. The players were destroyed after the match.
“It is up to us to respond and perform.”
A positive one for Potter’s news before the Chelsea clash is the lack of injuries inside his team.
He said: “Everyone is fine. George is a teenager with the group today. Louis Gilhirmi went on his shoulder in the week before the match, so he is still missing, but regardless of that everyone is fine.”
