The child saved the gorillas to recover from the ordeal of smuggling

Gorilla, the child, who was rescued last year from a shipping container at a plane at Istanbul Airport, can soon be returned to his homeland Nigeria.

The infant – named Zeytin was taken care of in a general competition – at the Polonezkoy Zoo in Türkiye while he underwent rehabilitation after his ordeal at the hands of smugglers. Zeytin has gained weight and has grown longer since it was found in December.

The Turkish authorities are seeking assurances from Nigeria that two olives will not be in danger from illegal merchants when he returns to the country.
