Police says that the victim of the suspected bear attack was killed by a son

Japanese police said that an elderly man believed that he was killed by a bear actually stabbed to death by his son.

Fujiuki Shindo, 51, was arrested in the Northern Akita Governorate on Tuesday, allegedly killing his 93 -year -old Fujiushi, according to local media reports.

The police sent a mail a warning against the attack after the victim’s wife found collapsing and bleeding on the ground. But it was pulled after the investigators concluded that the wounds were more consistent with the knife injuries.

Bear scenes have become increasingly common in northern Japan, where the advanced population of aging and volatile agriculture means that animals are expanding their habitats near human population.

Kyodo News reported that Mr. Shindo, who lived with his parents, had initially told the police that he had not noticed anything unusual at home during the attack period.

Investigators seized several knives from the family home and were trying to determine the murder, according to Gigi Press.

They did not give a motivation to kill.

The bears were initially supposed to be responsible for the death of Fujiushi Shindo because Japan has witnessed an increasing number of bear attacks in recent years. The Ministry of Environment in Japan said that the 219 people were attacked by Beers in the 12 months until March 2024, and six of them died.

In July, a reformer was killed in a newspaper by a brown bear in a residential area.

The rise in the bear’s confrontations also prompted the authorities to relax fishing laws to facilitate people to shoot the bears.

Thousands of bears were recently economic by fishermen.
