Texas lawmakers have approved new maps of Congress, which aims to give Republicans an advantage in the elections next year to the US House of Representatives.

After a two -week confrontation, with Democrats from the state to stop voting and gathering against plans to redress the circles, Republicans in the House of Representatives in Texas acknowledged new voting lines at 88-52 votes.

The maps will now go to the Senate in Texas, where it is expected to be quickly approved.

The new maps aim to give Republicans five seats currently maintained by Democrats and support the majority of the party’s parliament. However, the countries led by Democrats are pushing to re -draw their maps to make up for these gains.

President Donald Trump supported the re -maps to protect the Republican majority in the US House of Representatives, when the congressmen were in voting in 2026.

The vote was a dramatic confrontation, as government Democrats fled the state to stop the new maps from voting on it.

At least two -thirds of the state’s legislative body must be 150 members of Texas present to move forward in voting, called the legal quorum. It has become unknown in the House of Representatives in Texas after the escape of Democrats.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued arrest orders to the group members, and many Democrats said that the application of the law was watching their homes during their departure.

The legislators have returned this week, saying they believed that they were helping to get widespread awareness of the plans to redistribute the circles and caused the dismantling of multiple states to confront Republicans.

In an attempt to ensure that the Democrats will not try to stop voting again, the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Texas Dustin Buroz ordered on Monday to close the doors of the House of Representatives Chamber.

He also said that the Democrats “in the reservation” will be released for an officer dedicated to ensuring their return to the state’s house on Wednesday to re -divide the departments.

Instead, many Democrats torn off the written agreements that were asked to sign the police. One of the legislators, a member of the state, Nicole Coller, chose to sleep in the house room instead of accompanying him by an officer.

At that time, since Texas began thinking about these new voting maps, other countries controlled by both political parties – including Florida, New York, Ouhyu and Missouri – were considering political changes on voting maps.

California lawmakers are currently discussing new maps that will give new advantages to Democrats in five regions, which would cancel the changes made in Texas.

One of the main ruling in California says that the changing maps will come into effect only if Texas or other states go to changes in the preference of Republicans.

The changing maps in Texas raised concerns about ventilation – redrawing the electoral boundaries in favor of a political party – which is legal unless it is racist.

Like other states, Texas usually re -draws Congress once after a decade when new population data is issued by the US census.

Democrats in Texas claim that reusing maps before the next census in 2030 is on ethnic lines – an argument rejected by the Republicans. Voting maps that were approved in 2021 after the last population is currently being lit due to allegations of racial discrimination.
