RFL confirmed that Wakefield Trinity will get a 48-0 victory from a player in the Premier League over Slavord Red Devils.
The club said in a statement issued on Friday evening that they had made a decision to cancel the match amid “great concerns about the welfare of the player”, with only two big players for the home match along with 15 products of the academy.
RFL met the match results report and stated: “After canceling round 22 Betfred Super League the match between Salford Red Devils and Wakefield Trinity that was scheduled for Sunday August 17, the RFL spent that the match should be given to Wakefield Trinity with the half-line 48-0.
“This is in line with the B1: 23 operational base, taking into account the conditions behind the Silford cancellation of the match, and the advanced stage of the Betfred Super League season.”
Salvord’s financial turmoil led to severe uncertainty about the club’s future, with late wages payments, a collective migration for the players and 19 losses in 21 Premier League games that gathered to create a bleak picture.
