Israel agrees to the controversial West Bank settlement project

Israel gave final approval to a controversial settlement project in the occupied West Bank that would effectively cut the lands. Palestinians and rights groups say it may destroy plans for a Palestinian state in the future.

E1 settlement development, an open area of east lands from Jerusalem, was under study for more than two decades, but was frozen due to the pressure of the United States during previous administrations.

On Wednesday, the project received final approval from the Planning and Building Committee in the Israeli government after rejecting the recent petitions against it on August 6. If the operation moves quickly, the infrastructure work may start in the next few months, and the construction of homes may start around a year.

Extremist Finance Minister Paisalel Smotrich said during a press conference on the site last Thursday, that the plan includes about 3,500 apartments to expand the settlement of Mile Adirum. Smotrich has approved that it is a Reposte on the western countries that have announced their plans to recognize a Palestinian state in recent weeks.

“The Palestinian state is erased from the table, not by slogans, but with the procedures,” Sottic said on Wednesday. “Every settlement, every neighborhood, every housing unit is another nail in the coffin of this dangerous idea.”

E1 is important because it is one of the last geographical ties between Ramallah, in the northern West Bank and Bethlehem in the southern West Bank. The two cities disintegrate 22 kilometers away, but the Palestinians who travel between them must take wide distortion and pass through multiple Israeli checkpoints, adding hours to the trip.

Paace Now, an organization that tracks the expansion of the settlement in the West Bank, which described the E1 project as “fatal for the future of Israel and for any opportunity to achieve a peaceful solution from the two countries” and it “guarantees many years of inconvenience to blood.”

Israel’s plans to expand settlements are part of the increasing fact for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank with a focus on war in the war. There were noticeable increases in the settlers’ attacks on the Palestinians, sincerity from the Palestinian cities, the inspection points that suffocate the freedom of the movement, as well as many Palestinian attacks on the Israelis.

Penalties related to the West Bank

More than 700,000 Israelis are now living in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, and the lands that Israel seized in 1967 and the Palestinians seek a future state.

The international community considers an overwhelming majority that building an Israeli settlement in these areas is illegal and an obstacle to peace. Israel says that the West Bank is a disputed area that must be determined by negotiations.

The government of Israel is dominated by religious politicians and confidents with close relations with the settlement movement. SMOTRICH, who was previously a settler leader and finance minister now, has been granted authority at the level of ministers on settlement policies and pledged to double the settlers’ residents in the West Bank.

Canada has issued sanctions targeting some Israeli settlers participating in violent actions, along with other Western countries, targeting National Security Minister Itamar Bin Ghaffir for what it described as a repeated incitement to violence against the Palestinians, which led to heated responses from the Israeli government.

Earlier this summer, diplomats from many Western governments who condemned the Netanyahu government were fire from Israeli soldiers during their visit to the West Bank. The Israeli Defense Army claimed that it fired warning bullets in the air after the diplomats moved away from an agreed path, although video clips from the scene showed that the soldiers were aiming at their rifles in a horizontal direction.

Four of the Canadian embassy employees were among those who were forced to search for the cover. Prime Minister Mark Carnary described the shooting as “completely unacceptable.”
